Censortec
Initially tasked with adapting Nedap’s strict brand guidelines for Censortec, the brief shifted following feedback from key stakeholders. The company wanted to retain its own distinct identity rather than appear as a sub-brand. This meant revisiting the visual system entirely — balancing a break from Nedap’s look with a need for professional consistency across all channels.

Work Background

Work Background
Censortec is a leading distributor of advanced livestock monitoring technology in Ireland, known for bringing Nedap’s CowControl system to market. While early branding closely mirrored Nedap’s corporate style, stakeholders recognised that aligning too closely risked diluting Censortec’s own market presence. The challenge was to evolve the identity to be instantly recognisable as Censortec, while still projecting trust and technological sophistication.

The Outcome
I revised the brand guidelines, removing restrictive Nedap elements and introducing design features unique to Censortec — retaining a refined, tech-driven feel without dependency on Nedap’s geometry or colour constraints.
The updated identity spanned business cards, clothing, email signatures, and promotional graphics, supported by new usage rules to ensure consistency. The result was a confident, standalone visual identity that strengthened Censortec’s presence and allowed greater creative freedom for future campaigns.

Conclusion
Conclusion
Conclusion
The project began with the full expectation of adhering to Nedap’s strict brand guidelines, and I had already completed a comprehensive set of Censortec assets within that framework. However, late-stage stakeholder feedback called for a clear separation from the Nedap identity to strengthen Censortec’s independence.
This required rethinking some of the most fundamental design elements — replacing the Nedap pentagon with a standalone “sweep” device, selecting new fonts, amending the colour palette, and adjusting layouts across all applications.
By pivoting quickly, I was able to preserve the project timeline, maintain visual cohesion, and deliver a refreshed brand identity that met the new strategic direction without compromising quality.
